Impact of Design Sync (xDoc) Tools on Cable Management

Design Sync (xDCS) is used to track changes during cable and equipment list import and i- model import. Changes to cables and equipment are flagged in cable manager to allow user to review change easily and make changes if required.

Once cables are imported to Bentley Raceway and Cable Management for the very first time their Design Sync status is set to read only status New.
To take full advantage of Design Sync benefits users should Acknowledge the design sync status before the next cable list import. Click Acknowledge from ribbon
Design Sync status will change to Acknowledged.
If a new cable list is imported and cable attributes are changed or cables are deleted or added as seen in the following dialog,

then all of the changes can be reviewed in the Cable Manager.
If cable that exists in cable manager is not found in newly imported cable list, it is marked as Pending Deletion in the Cable Manager. Flags are displayed for each cable depicting the cable status
- - Modified status flag for the cable if cable is modified after second import.
- -Deleted status flag for the cable if cable is deleted after second import.
User has option to either Acknowledge and accept deletion (cable will be permanently deleted) or Reject Delete which will restore the cable's previous state. Use these options from Cable Manager ribbon menu
Once changes are acknowledged, Design Sync status returns to Acknowledged and Bentley Raceway and Cable Management is ready for next cable list import. Red highlights are also removed.
